Transportation Survey
We are currently planning for our students’ transportation needs for the upcoming school year. To plan properly, we are requesting information on the students who intend to use the district buses to bring students to school and/or back home.
This survey (click here) is only intended for families whose child(ren) plan to utilize bus transportation. Please do not respond if your child(ren) is/are not planning to use school transportation.
Please fill out the survey for each of your children. This survey will close on Tuesday, August 11th.
The Bedford School District is encouraging families to use alternative transportation methods to minimize ridership. We understand that not all families have this option. For the students who ride the bus, we are committed to their safety. Here are our expectations:
1. Students wear masks while on buses
2. Buses are cleaned between runs and after each day’s last run
3. Windows as opened as wide and often as possible (weather permitting)
4. Students have assigned seats
5. Siblings share seats
6. Drivers wear masks
We understand that not everyday is identical for your family schedules. Please fill the survey out to the best of your ability, as the information is instrumental in our planning. Thank you for your consideration and support.

2020-2021 Chromebook Program Selection Open
The Bedford District is asking parents of students currently in grades 6 and any new students entering grades 7 thru 12 to select an option for your student to participate in the District’s Chromebook 1-to-1 Program. We believe this program is a tremendous opportunity for our students and teachers to improve teaching and learning.
Our Chromebook 1-to-1 Website has detailed information for parents regarding the program and we encourage parents to review the 1-to-1 Program and Parent Resources section.
Parents are asked to purchase a Chromebook device for their student choosing one of the following options:
- Purchase a Chromebook on your own
- Purchase a Chromebook directly from the district with a one-time payment (two model options are offered this year - accidental breakage/theft insurance and a case are included)
For families that do not opt into the Chromebook 1-to-1 Program, a loaner will be provided to the student during the school day. The loaner must be checked in and out daily and will not be allowed to leave the school.
For parents of existing 6th graders, click on this link to select the option for your student to participate in this program. We are asking that parents submit their selection for their child by June 9th, 2020 so that we can secure the best pricing and plan for purchasing and deployment.
If you are a parent of a student in grades 8-12 in the 20-21 school year, please use this form to place an order for a chromebook replacement. Insurance information will be coming soon for parents of students who have existing chromebooks who want to renew their yearly insurance.

Remote Learning Update 4.16.20
Dear Bedford Families ~
It has been decided. Remote learning will take place for the remainder of this school year. While I am not surprised, I am grateful that we can move forward with confidence that this is our path. April Break. I have modified our calendar for the remainder of the school year. In order to accommodate both those who need a break as well as responding to those families who have reached a rhythm, we will adhere to the following schedule:
Food Service
The Bedford School District will continue to offer breakfast and lunch each day. This includes Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1st.
Opportunities to Help the Red Cross
A new volunteer opportunity, Blood Donor Screener, will help pre-screen blood donors entering drives or donation centers. Personal protective equipment will be provided. Volunteers must be 18 years of age. Click HERE to sign up.
If you would like to donate blood, click HERE. End of Year Planning
All schools are working on possible plans for the end of the school year. From BEEP to graduation (and everything in between), we are in the planning stages. We will keep you updated as we know more.
Reuniting Students with their Belongings
All schools are also working on plans to reunite students with their belongings that were left at school. Once a plan has been developed, we will communicate that with you.

Covid-19 - 3.12.20 Update (posted 03.12.20)
Covid-19 - 3.12.20 Update
Dear Bedford Families ~
I sent a text this morning indicating that I would have an update tomorrow (3/13). After meeting with School Principals and participating in a state conference call today, I am able to provide an update now.
Covid-19
The Bedford School District continues to communicate with the NH DHHS as well as our local EMS regarding Covid-19. Below are updates from these ongoing conversations:
· There has been a case of COVID-19 reported in the town of Bedford. The risk is isolated, and the schools are remaining open. We will continue to actively monitor the situation with the authorities.
· We will continue to ask for your calm and measured resolve as we work though this situation together.
· The BSD has been developing plans for remote instruction in the event that schools are required to implement remote learning. BSD will provide a 1-page summary document next week.
· We encourage you to begin making contingency plans for childcare, just in case. We may not be able to provide advanced notice.
· The BSD and PTG have cancelled ALL GRANDPARENTS DAY events due to that population being particularly susceptible.
· All school events/trips between today and April vacation will be either postponed/modified or cancelled. Each school will communicate the specifics in their notes THIS FRIDAY.
· BHS & RAL are working through Tri-County & NHIAA regarding all sporting events. Notice will be provided under a separate cover.
We will send you updates as information and/or plans change. As always, please direct questions to your child’s school. Thank you for your thoughtful engagement and support. Mike (Superintendent) |

Covid-19 Update, 3.4.20
March 4, 2020
Dear Bedford Families & Staff ~ The Bedford School District learned this morning that DHHS and the CDC have changed their recommendation regarding those who traveled to Italy. Click HERE for their travel advisory. After speaking with DHHS directly, we are requesting all staff members and students who have traveled to Italy self quarantine and do not attend school as recommended by the CDC. This is effective immediately. The recommendation is to self quarantine for 14 days after returning to the United States. Click HERE for the Self Observation Guide. If you have any questions regarding this notice, please contact your child’s school nurse or principal. The Bedford School District will be flexible during this excused absence. Sincerely, Michael Fournier Superintendent |
