Dear Bedford Families ~

Welcome back from Winter break (almost)!  I hope the time off from school provided you with some much needed downtime.  While you were away, the Bedford School District was monitoring Covid-19 along with our partners at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS).
As of 2.26.20, there are no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 in NH
BHS Intersession Travel will be addressed under a separate cover.  TBD

General Precautions
The following precautions are recommended for all respiratory illnesses:
  • Stay home and avoid public places when sick (i.e., social distancing)
  • Cover mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing
  • Wash hands frequently
  • Avoid being in close contact to a person who is sick
  • Avoid sharing drinks, utensils or objects that may transmit saliva
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces

Specific Recommendations for those who have traveled (out of country)
  1. Anyone presenting with mild respiratory illness within 14 days of travel:
    1. Stay home until symptoms resolve
    2. Stay away from public places
    3. If symptoms worsen, contact health care provider
  2. Asymptomatic travelers from China:
    1. Stay home and avoid public places for 14 days
    2. Self-monitor for symptoms
    3. Contact NH DPHS - 603-271-4496
  3. Asymptomatic travelers from countries identified with COVID-19 community transmission other than China (i.e., those with travel advisories):
    1. Monitor for fever or respiratory symptoms
    2. If symptoms develop, take temperature and contact healthcare provider or NH DPHS - 603-271-4496

Bedford School District Response
  • Disseminate information to families as available
  • Instruct employees and students to follow the general precautions above
  • Work with our Maintenance & Food Service Departments to be vigilant in our sanitation practices
  • Other, as prescribed by Public Health Officials
